House cleaning: tips and tricks

What woman doesn’t want to have a perfect and uncomplicated house cleaning? It may seem like something very difficult to achieve, but the truth is that, by following some useful tips, we can maintain proper cleaning at home without haste or carelessness.

For starters, the best thing to do is establish routines. The first task will be to organize and regulate the cleaning activities by areas in such a way that each day and time has an area assigned.

If we have children, these jobs will certainly double. However, if we stick to our cleaning schedule, it will be much easier to get organized.

How to organize house cleaning

The organization and cleaning of the house includes a series of daily and periodic tasks. They can be done once or several times a week, including daily. Everything will depend on the availability of time we have for these activities.

Any frequency with which we clean the house has its pros and cons, so we can easily choose the one that is most convenient.

If we decide to do daily cleaning, the good thing is that we will only invest a small fraction of the day for it. If, on the other hand, we want to organize cleaning tasks on a weekly basis, the load will be grouped into a single day, which is usually the one that is intended for rest from work.

Another viable option is to set aside a fortnightly day for deep cleaning of an area. Thus, maintenance will be much simpler. We can, for example, start with a bedroom, then the garage and so on until it covers all the spaces in the house.

the role of children

We must not forget to include the partner and children in cleaning tasks. With this help, not only will we reach the goal with less effort and time, but also, by involving the whole family, everyone will value the time needed to have a clean house more. As a result, everyone will try to keep clean and tidy.

In addition to daily, weekly or monthly cleaning, special cleaning is required twice a year. It is advisable to do this in spring and then fall, as this is usually the time when children’s holidays begin.

Tips to keep the house clean daily

The more detailed and careful the daily cleaning, the easier and more comfortable the maintenance of areas will be when we do not have the availability to delve into these tasks.

To make our work easier, we must, without a doubt, make an initial investment in specific utensils and cleaning products for each location.

Put the following tips into practice when it comes to daily cleaning. By applying them, you can keep the house clean and organized:

Keep rooms ventilated

Try not only to have good airflow, but also to allow natural light into the room. This prevents mold growth resulting from moisture.

dust removal

To clean dust from furniture and objects, the best option is to use a vacuum cleaner. But if you don’t have one available at home, try getting a special product to clean those spaces.

These products generally contain a certain oily content that hydrates the materials and encapsulates the powder. This way, you avoid shaking it from side to side promoting allergic episodes. For that same reason, using a feather duster is not recommended.

floor cleaning

Spend 5 minutes a day sweeping the entire house. After collecting any solid residue from the soil, wipe it off with your favorite disinfectant.

You can also prepare a homemade solution to sanitize the floor. Just mix a liter of water, two tablespoons of vinegar and one tablespoon of baking soda.

By doing this every day, you will prevent any dirt from sticking together and then becoming very difficult to remove. Also, remember that the amount of dust that accumulates daily is considerable.

Bedding

It is advisable to make the beds daily and instill the same practice in your children. The ideal, furthermore, is to change the bed linen for a clean one every five days, approximately.

kitchen area

The kitchen is usually the most dirty place, so daily maintenance is not optional. Probably, when cooking, some sauce or oil may be spilled. If you don’t remove them as soon as possible, it will be much more difficult to clean the area later.

Among the utensils that will facilitate this work are metal sponges, rubber gloves, degreasing liquids, disinfectants and baking soda and vinegar.

If you clean the kitchen immediately after you’ve finished cooking, you’ll find it easier to remove any kind of debris that has fallen out.

If you have some stubborn grease stains, a good trick is to put some baking soda on top and add vinegar. A chemical reaction will take place that will quickly soften the substance.

Other tips for weekly or seasonal cleaning

Maintenance of wooden spaces

  • Enamelled or varnished doors can be washed with clean soapy water. Then rinse and dry with a clean cloth.
  • If the floor is wooden and is stained with oil, you should scrub it with a volatile solvent. Immediately scrub with boiling soapy water and finally with wax heated in a bain-marie so that it can penetrate the fibers.

    • To prevent the blades of the knives from becoming moldy, you should sink them several times in a row in some soft earth and then rub with wool or suede.
    • The water stain in the bathroom can be removed with bleach or acetic acid – three tablespoons per liter – or with salt diluted in vinegar. The build-up of tartar or lime salts on the walls can be removed with hydrochloric acid dissolved in water.
