Don’t Cover Me As A Coach, Encourage Me As An Admirer: Words From Your Child

Encourage me in any school or extra-school activities. Don’t cover me up as a coach, just become my admirer.  Even though your intentions are the best for me I feel pressured and you end up canceling me.

I don’t want you to become my coach, because I often feel unbearable pressure coming from you. An obligation that does nothing more than block me and paralyze me.  I just need you to support me: encourage me, lift me up every time I stumble and celebrate my little victories.

For my safety and self-esteem, encourage me

Be careful with the words you use, because what is at stake is not just a result, but my personality.  Encourage me with positive words. Don’t bother me with phrases that will only cause me frustration.

For my safety and self-esteem, encourage me

Don’t cover me up demanding victories when what I’m looking for is just having fun while I graduate. Don’t make me feel belittled, let alone compare me.  I am me, with virtues and defects, talents or not. Please don’t create unnecessary discomfort as I try to integrate.

Again, encourage me like a fan. Highlight each of my successes and accomplishments, however small. Feed my self-esteem and security. Load my backpack with motivational elements, try to enhance my capabilities.

I simply ask you, mother or father, to accompany me and support me without depositing your desires and frustrations on me. Because I’m just a child in the process of formation and development. Take into account what you ask of me, according to my aptitudes and abilities.

Encourage me without hurting me or leaving me distressed

Of course I understand that you want the best for me and that you only dream of seeing me shine. In the same way, I also just want to see you happy and be a part of this great event in life. However, when you adopt the cold and cruel posture of a trainer, it kills my soul and my heart.

No wonder, because all I need is an admirer who drools when he talks about me. May you know as a result, recognize and highlight my effort and dedication. Obviously I don’t need to be criticized or made to feel useless or incompetent.

Without a doubt, I don’t mean that you should deceive me or be untrue . I don’t want to be immersed in a lie, or lose self-criticism. I just want to be a full and happy child, socializing and having fun while learning by playing.

As you can see, I don’t plan to be the best, but to be what I am: neither more nor less than a simple person, normal, happy and happy. That child who came to put color in your grayest days.  The being who filled your mornings with reasons to move on.

encourage me without hurting me

Invest in me, encourage me!

Make me feel good about everything I bravely face. Does not detract from any activity that I like, where I feel good or amuses me m . Give me the freedom to choose, and also to act.

So, invest and encourage. And understand that I will not become a Lionel Messi, Rafael Nadal, Nadia Comaneci or Gabriela Sabatini, but I still ask you to please believe me. Let it go, maybe I’m not just looking to be a gold medal or a silver medal.

Behind my extra-school activity, there are other needs and also, why not, many other satisfactions. Not every goal or objective obeys a table of positions, the many converts or the result of a sporting encounter.

Believe me . The possibility of interacting with partners, learning about a topic, introducing myself to the world of rules and having fun with full support will be much more productive.  So I ask you once more and forever: don’t demand me as a coach, encourage me as an admirer.
