We can always make them watch movies and talk about clothes. Or watching people on the street, showing why they should dress a certain way, such as people in uniform, and explaining the different types of clothing that exist. Then, little by little, they can see if the outfit they’ve chosen for that day looks appropriate and then continue the process.
There is no better method of teaching than practice. The fact that the children themselves can enjoy our way of teaching them new things is a blessing. They will love learning how to choose the right outfit. In this way, you will see how your children will become independent.
Be a guide so that our children know how to dress
Sometimes our little ones can feel overwhelmed when making decisions. This can happen in any area of life because they usually turn to us for our opinion. However, we have to keep in mind that sometimes we have to let them make mistakes. As much as it hurts us.
The goal is to raise them to be independent people. So that, in the future, they will be individuals capable of making their own decisions without depending on other people.
When we have taught this important “life attitude,” they will be able to listen to other people’s opinions, but they will have the ability to discern so as not to be influenced in their final decision.
We must let instincts, values and ethics guide them in this beautiful process that we all go through. That is, learning the good and the bad and knowing how to react in any situation that is presented to us in life.
As parents, we are role models. Therefore, we must always be careful with the decisions that we may come to make, since, although we do not believe it, children are always paying close attention and are really supervising every step we take in life. So, we must not forget that we must educate by example.
