It is true that raising children, especially if they are young, consumes most of their time. But that doesn’t mean you should let go. “Caring for me as a woman influences my children’s well-being” is a premise you must remember every day. It’s for the sake of your family!

Taking care of myself as a woman influences my children’s well-being: beauty and aesthetics

We could identify, without fear of making mistakes, which woman has children and which doesn’t just by seeing them walking down the street. The one that doesn’t have it will be better dressed, will have her nails done and her clothes in perfect condition. Why, many times, a woman who is a mother does not take care of her appearance and her well-being?

The first answer that arises to this question is “because I spend all my time caring for the children”. This happens mainly when women give up working outside the home.

It is true that creation takes a lot of time and days are only 24 hours long. However, it is very important that you take care of yourself.

That won’t make you a worse mother, quite the opposite. Fixing your hair, shaving and getting your nails done will make you feel better about yourself. And this will influence the image and education you will give your children.

From the child’s point of view, having a mother who dresses up is not the same thing as having a mother who wears any clothes and hasn’t been to the beauty salon for months. No doubt the kids will love you just the same. However, you will be giving a ‘hidden’ teaching behind your sloppiness.

Claiming lack of time, even during motherhood, is no excuse for not taking care of your physical appearance. Because later on, when your kids grow up, you’ll realize that you ‘deserved’ an hour – or less – a day to take care of yourself.

When was the last time you went to the doctor to check your health? It was certainly a few weeks after the birth, especially if it was a caesarean.

After this period, the only visits to the office are with the pediatrician. And that’s very good, because the baby needs attention but… what about you? Why don’t you take care of your health? Once again, you will say that you don’t have time or that you don’t know who to leave your child with.

However, you should know that postponing medical examinations can cause big problems, as many pathologies or diseases that are not identified and treated in time become chronic, or even fatal.

It’s not a matter of being afraid that something bad might happen to you. But don’t you think it’s motivation enough for your kids to have a healthy, energetic mother?

Don’t put yourself last when it comes to health. Keep in mind that if you get sick, no one can be responsible for raising your children the same way you can.

Another way to take care of yourself as a woman is to take the opportunity to do what you like and that has nothing to do with your children. This includes going out with your partner or friends and, above all, having time to be alone and do whatever you want, without any obligation.

Certainly, since you became a mother, you haven’t taken a bath, enjoyed a book while having tea, or watched an entire movie lying on the couch. Of course, because you don’t have time!

You need to know that you yourself must allow yourself this blessed ‘time for yourself’. Otherwise no one will do it. Don’t expect your kids to be at school, because there will always be something to do at those times: washing clothes, shopping at home, cooking dinner, or whatever.

Dedicating yourself completely to motherhood is one of the best decisions you could make, but keep in mind that this is something that never ends. Don’t wait for your kids to grow up and leave the house to do everything you love, or at least some rewarding activities.

In short, remember that a happy, self-assured and healthy mother is what every child wants. And for that, you must take care of yourself.
